A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle
Oh, man! I remember loving this book as a kid. I thought it made so much sense in my little kid's brain. Re-reading it, though, was a total letdown. I felt like it needed to be clearer for a kids' book. I was genuinely confused by the idea of wrinkling. How does that even make sense? I feel like the author didn't explain it in a way that was understandable for younger children. I felt like it was written for kids 13 and younger because of the way it was narrated. I think that it was well-written and had an interesting plot, but only if you haven’t read a lot of sci-fi in the past. I also feel like it was a great introduction to sci-fi since most of the books I've read in the genre are super confusing. So, it is a good intro to sci-fi, but I would not recommend it to anybody who has read a lot or read sci-fi the most.
